While you can trek to altitudes above 5000 meters for very close views of Himalayan peaks, there are also opportunities to see spectacular mountain scenery and fascinating village life on shorter and less strenuous treks at lower altitudes. There are short treks are in the Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang regions, and even one right in the Kathmandu Valley, any of which is perfect if you have limited time but want to experience the mountain life of Nepal.
