Flood Relief Requests for Nepal

One of our partner hotels in Nepal has organized to assist with donations for flood relief.  Their executive manager, Rajiv Desraj Shrestha, is well known to us and sent out the request below.   The flooding is not effecting the trekking region or any of the areas we operate in, but our hearts go out to the suffering people it is effecting and we’re happy to support this effort.  Our founder, Leigh Wilson, has personally donated to this effort and after you read the below we hope you might consider doing the same.

You may be aware of the devastating floods that have taken place in the Terai region of Nepal displacing millions of people from their homes, villages and towns. The area is completely inundated with water. Villages have been cut off by overflowing rivers. The majority of crops have been damaged. People are taking shelter on roadside levees and do not have drinking water, shelter, sanitation facilities, cooking facilities or access to food. Local economies have stalled, and there is no work available and there seems to be no respite even with help pouring in from all over and water borne diseases have started taking its toll on the hapless people.

The Dwarika’s Group in its long history of community outreach programs has initiated a quest to immediately help in the aftermath of the floods with relief materials; health camps etc and we seek YOUR help as ever in realizing this monumental task.

We have opened a special bank account, details, of which is given below and again our sincere appeal is for YOUR HELP…………..any way you can.
